I just took my car for servicing. I went in. I came out. I did not turn into a car.
I used to frequent the McDonald’s near my office in SS2. I was a fast-food junkie then. I went in. I came out. I did not turn into a cheeseburger.
We go to church every week. We go in. We come out. Does going to church make us anymore of a Christian? Does attending the Sunday celebration make us more of a follower of Christ?
I am not saying going to church is not important. We hear the preaching of the Word. We worship together. We pray together. We have fellowship. It is important.
I am saying the mere act of attending a church celebration / service does not a Christian make. How then do we become a Christian? How do we become more and more like Jesus? We need to be soaked in the Word of God. We need to submit to God to let the Holy Spirit work in us. We need to know the heart of God and live a life that is pleasing to God. We need to be obedient. We need to bear testimony to the love, and grace, and mercy of God. We need to bring hope to those without hope. We need to bring peace to those who could not find peace.
So, are you making efforts to be changed into a car or a cheeseburger?
