God Wants You

It is incorrect to believe that serving God is the ultimate measure of our faith. We serve in different ministries, help others, and give our time and resources. However, God’s greatest desire is not just our service – it is our hearts.

The Bible clearly tells us that “to obey is better than sacrifice” (1 Sam 15:22) God does not merely seek our outward acts of service but a heart surrendered to him. Our good works are valuable, but they mean little if they do not stem from love and obedience. God is not impressed by how much we do but the sincerity of our devotion.

This is not to say serving is unimportant. Jesus served. We are called to follow his examples. However, service without love is empty duty, and service without joy is a chore. God delights in us when they serve with joy, not obligation. He wants us – not just our efforts, but our love, trust, and willingness to walk in his ways.

Before we serve, let us seek first our God. Let us give him our hearts, knowing that when we love him fully, our service will naturally follow – and it will be a delight both to us and to our Father in heaven.
