When I was in high school, I was shy to pray for others. I was so impressed at how the others pray wonderful prayers and I did not know how to pray like them.
A Christians, prayer is an integral part of our life. There could be times when we struggle to find the right words in prayer. It could be due to overwhelming emotions, uncertainty, or spiritual dryness. You know a scripture that is just right for the occasion but you cannot remember what it says. Sometimes, we may not even want to pray.
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.”
We are not alone in our struggles. The Holy Spirit helps us when we are weak. He intercedes on our behalf. He aligns our prayers with God’s will. Even when our words fail, he speaks to the Father for us.
So, when we feel lost in prayer, trust in the Holy Spirit. He knows our needs, even when we cannot articulate it. He understands how we feel, even when we cannot express it. Rest assured that your petitions, supplications, and intercessions are brought before the throne of grace.
When was the last time you pray for somebody?
