Where do we follow Jesus?
When you are in a library, you try to be quiet. Of course, you can remain silent outside of the library, there is nothing wrong with that. However, when you are in the library, you keep quiet.
Now, let me ask you this question. Where do you follow Jesus? Do you follow him when you are in the church? The workplace? The school? The grocery store? At home? In the park? The library?
The church. Definitely, the church. Not really. You mean, we do not follow Jesus in the church? I mean, we do not just follow Jesus in the church. If we do that, then we are putting up appearances.
Obedience is not what you do when people see you. Obedience is what you do even – and especially – when no one is looking at you.
So, we follow Jesus to the church (that is the community of faith, the people, not the building). We follow Jesus at home. We do what Jesus do. We love our family. We take care of our family. We follow Jesus at work and in the school. We live peach fully with others. We do no evil. We be honest.
We follow Jesus among our friends. We show what is like to be a follower of Jesus. We do not get involved in nonsense. We have our foundation firmly rooted in the Word of God. We are not pressured into doing what we do not want to do just because we want to be cool. We are cool with who we are in Jesus.
We follow Jesus in every par in our lives. We cannot have enough of Jesus.
To follow Jesus is simple but not easy. It is simple – just follow him in all your ways. Don’t spend time deciding when to follow and when not to follow. It is not easy because the world is against Jesus and hence it is against you.
Are you following Jesus?
