Taking Stock

“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Ps 90:12)

Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana (that’s what my son would tell me.) Without notice, more than three quarters of the year has passed. The days feel long, but the months have slipped away. It is a good moment to pause and take stock of life.

Think. Am I where I hoped to be? Am I still working towards the goals I set at the start of the year, or have I drifted? Have I stalled? Taking stock is not about guilt or regret. It is about honesty. It is about looking at where we are and choosing to move forward with purpose.

Maybe some plans worked out, and others did not. Maybe the year turned out nothing like you imagined. That is all right. God is still here. His grace still holds the rest of your days.

Take a quiet moment to reflect. What have you learned? What needs to change? What do you need to let go of so you can begin again?

The year is not over. There is still time to realign your steps, to forgive yourself, and to keep going.

I invite you to say this prayer.
Father, thank You for bringing me this far. Help me to see my life clearly and to walk wisely. Teach me to use my days well, to set my heart right, and to trust you with what is ahead. I pray in the name of Jesus, amen.
