A Broken Scale

©Loong.

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. (Ps 91:11-12)

I have been weighing myself every day. It’s part of my daily routine with Noom. Today, as I approached the scale, I stepped on something. There is normally nothing to step on in the kitchen (my scale is in the kitchen.)

I picked it up. It was a piece of broken glass. Where did it come from? I then looked at the weighing scale and noticed the glass surface had shattered into a million pieces, like a shattered dream. It maintained its shape possibly because it was tempered glass. A few shards came off. I happened to step on a sliver of it.

I was wearing slippers. Imagine if I was not wearing slippers when I stepped on that piece of broken glass.

I saw the glass surface of the scale shattered into a million pieces before I stepped on it. Imagine if I stepped on it without realizing it was no longer in one piece. I would have messed up my feet. With my girth and tonnage, I would have made a million holes in the soles of my feet.

God protected me. I was not very alert because I did not get enough sleep. And what very little sleep I got was not very good. Still, I did not get hurt.

All glory to Jesus.
