A Broken Spirit

“My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart You, God, will not despise.” (Ps 51:17)

There are days when the heart feels too tired to keep believing. When you wake up and wonder what the point of another day is. You go through the motions, but something deep inside feels cracked – not loud, not dramatic, just quietly broken.

A broken spirit is not easy to explain. It is the ache behind the smile, the emptiness that lingers after prayer. You know the verses, you know God’s promises, yet your heart feels far away.

But even in this silence, God is with us. He does not despise a broken and contrite heart. He stays. He waits. He holds the pieces until you are ready to lift your head again.

When your spirit is broken, you do not need to perform. You do not need to hide behind strength you do not have. God does not demand perfection; He desires honesty. Bring Him your weakness – not your best version, but your real one. #BeReal

Healing begins when we stop pretending we are fine. The cracks in our hearts let his light in.

You may not feel strong today, but you are still held by the One who never breaks.

I invite you to say this prayer.
Father, my heart is heavy and tired. I cannot fix myself, but I know you can. Mend what is torn within me. Restore my hope. Teach me to trust you again, even in silence. Hold me close until my spirit sings once more. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
