“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” – Proverbs 3:5
Ben does not worry. He does not wonder what tomorrow will bring. He trusts that there will be food in his bowl, walks in the park, and a place beside me when night comes.
Sometimes, I look at him and realize how much I can learn from that kind of trust. He never questions my care. He simply rests in it. I wish I could do the same with God – to stop worrying about what is next and believe that I will be cared for, too.
Ben reminds me that trust is not about knowing everything. It is about knowing who holds your life and your tomorrow. It is resting, not striving. It is waiting, not fearing.
When Ben curls up near me, peaceful and sure, I see a quiet lesson. If he can trust me, how much more should I trust the Father who never fails?
I invite you to say this prayer.
Father, thank You for showing me lessons of faith through simple things. Teach me to rest in your care, just as Ben rests in mine. Help me to trust you with my heart, my plans, and my days. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
